December 2018 – Parcel Contents

Good Evening!

I hope you’ve had a lovely relaxing Christmas…and a discussed in my last post, didn’t take on too much over the festive season, and looked after yourself too!

Our December parcels were, of course, Christmas themed, and as we knew lots of you had either purchased them to give as gifts, or were saving them to open on Christmas Day, we didn’t want to spoil the surprise, and so kept the contents secret until after the big day.

Hopefully, we can now safely show you, so carry on reading to find out everything you need to know…

December Contents:

Grey Stocking –

If you haven’t already guessed it – this is your Christmas parcel! You may already have your decorations up, or if you have saved this parcel to open on Christmas day (which I know lots of you do), this stocking may be a little late for Santa’s visit, but keep hold of it…hopefully he’ll be back next year!!

‘Let It Snow’ Bauble –

We included a bauble in last year’s Christmas parcel, and we loved doing them, so chose a snowy design for this time. Perfect for that one little empty space on the tree, but these also look lovely hanging on a door handle, or as part of a bauble table centrepiece!

Slate Star & Adult Reward Stickers –

This slate star was a must-have for this parcel, as soon as we spotted it! So, usually we would be saying to ‘be nice, always’, but in this case, surely a little naughty is Okay?! Now, did I hear anyone say that reward stickers were just for children – I don’t think so…So, here are some just for you, Christmas can be hard work, there’s so much to do and organise – I reckon if anyone deserves reward stickers, it’s you!

Colouring Sheet & Chocolate Coins –

We like to include something that you ‘can do’ on Christmas day, for that lull after dinner, when you’re just too full to move, so that’s why we’ve included a sheet to colour, with a super festive design – take a moment to relax with a bit of therapeutic colouring. When you can face a chocolate treat, we’ve included a few coins which you should find sprinkled around your parcel – please note the ingredients and allergens list we’ve included too.

 Christmas Card –

This cute snowman Christmas card has been made by ‘Kirsty’s Kreative Kraft’s’. Kirsty creates lots of lovely card designs, and also makes beautiful pencil flowers from paper and card – you can find Kirsty’s page on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/kirstyskreativekrafts/

Smile Cards

As always, there should be a couple of these little cards in your parcel, I’ve written one for you, and the blank one, is for you to write a short inspirational or positive message, and give to someone you know, or leave somewhere for a complete stranger to find – but this is of course optional, there’s absolutely no pressure to do this if you don’t want to.

Parcel Assistant

Your Christmas *Parcel Assistant is…Jeremy. Now, Jeremy told me he’s only working as an assistant for The Smile Parcel while he’s waiting for his application to work as Santa’s assistant – one day Jeremy!!

November 2018 – Parcel Contents

Happy Friday!

We’ve reached the end of November (I can almost smell Christmas!!), so that means it’s time to reveal this month’s parcel contents.

The theme for November was ‘Warm & Cosy’, and they contained lots of lovely products to help make the recipient feel warm, relaxed and cosy, now the colder weather has arrived.

November Contents:

Enamel Mug –

The first item in your parcel this month is a lovely pale green enamel mug, which reads ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’. We loved the design and thought it would be perfect for all the hot drinks and soups we are undoubtedly going to be consuming over the next few months, including…

Hot Chocolate –

We are now well into Autumn, the clocks have gone back, and the colder, darker evenings have arrived. It can be difficult adjusting to the changing seasons, especially when they include shorter days and lowering temperatures. So, it’s even more important to look after ourselves, and try to embrace the chilly nights, starting with a hot chocolate …now all we need is a blanket and some fluffy socks!

Slate Coasters –

This set of slate coasters were a perfect addition for this parcel, each has a cosy quote. Plus, I’m not sure if it is actually possible to have ‘too many’ coasters – well, at least we’ll be ready if any unexpected visitors arrive over the festive period!

Advent Positivity Box –

Now, you need to keep this little box safe for another couple of weeks! Inside you’ll find 24 paper scrolls, each tied with string. There’s one for each day from 1st – 24th December, so on the morning of 1st December, choose one scroll from the box, unfold, and read the message. Life is tough, and sometimes we all need a reminder of how strong we are, along with a little inspiration, to help us through the day.

We decided to leave the box unfinished, so you can decorate it however you wish.

 ‘Shine Bright’ –

This postcard from ‘Katie Abey Design’ is so cute, it just had to be included this month. Remember to always sparkle and shine bright, and if someone tries to dull your sparkle – just shine a little brighter!

Smile Cards

As always, there should be a couple of these little cards in your parcel, I’ve written one for you, and the blank one, is for you to write a short inspirational or positive message, and give to someone you know, or leave somewhere for a complete stranger to find – but this is of course optional, there’s absolutely no pressure to do this if you don’t want to*.

Parcel Assistant

Your *Parcel Assistant this month is Morris…he was trying to climb inside your Advent Positivity Box – so if he is missing – check inside there!

October 2018 – Parcel Contents

It’s Halloween tomorrow, so that means it’s the end of October, and time to reveal this months parcel contents – the theme for October was ‘Happy Autumn’, and for the contents this month…we went all out decorations!

October Contents:

Wooden Plaque –

If you have been receiving our parcels for a while, you’ll know that we like to include practical items within your contents, but this month, as we are entering the most decorative time of the year, this month we’ve gone all out, decorations! Halloween is now very soon, so we couldn’t not include a little something to help you out with any visitors…so ‘Welcome My Pretties’!

Plaque made by ‘Sarah’s Crafty House’ – you can find her page on Facebook (spiders added by us).

Leaf Garland –

We added a similar leaf garland in our parcels this time last year, and received lovely feedback, so we wanted to include another one this time. The wire inside means if you do have another, they can easily be tied together to make one long garland, which makes a perfect Autumnal fireplace or shelf decoration.

Crochet Pumpkin & Sweets!  –

In our opinion, it’s just not possible to have an Autumnal themed parcel, without a pumpkin, so why not a crochet pumpkin! This has been made by Vicki, Vicki makes lovely crochet items, and currently has some fabulous Halloween creations in her eBay shop – you can find her here: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/stars53vicki. There’s also an orange and white stripe paper bag – but is it a Trick, or Treat?!

Autumn Wood Slice & Pine Cone –

The final two decorations this month are a beautiful ‘Autumn’ wood slice made by Jajo Gifts, and a pretty pine cone. Jajo Gifts specialise in laser engraving and wedding accessories, and made these seasonal wood slices especially for our parcels. Pine cones look great sprayed gold or silver in an Autumn arrangement, but also look great, just as they are!

 ‘Make Future You Proud’ –

When we have things we know we want to do, or would like to do, particularly things that aren’t easy to achieve, or need a lot of hard work, it’s easy to put them off, and tell ourselves ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’, or ‘I’ll start that next week’…or maybe ‘next month’?? Things don’t have to stay how they are now. Our future self is determined by the choices and decisions we make now, so we have the choice today, or on any given day, to take small steps towards our future goal, whatever that may be! Postcard from Katie Abey Design.

Your *Parcel Assistant this month is, Bruno! Bruno likes a quiet life, so he shouldn’t give you too much trouble…hopefully!

September 2018 – Parcel Contents

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a lovely week.

We’ve reached the end of another month, so this week’s post is going to be about the contents of our September parcel! The theme this time was ‘At Home’, and the contents were all about the recipient, their home, and the environment they live in – thank you so much for the lovely feedback we’ve received this month.

September Contents:

Wish Bracelet –

This month, our parcels are all about you and your home. We loved the idea of these wish bracelets, which have been made by ‘By Erin’. As you tie the bracelet on your wrist, make a wish, and it is believed that when the cord is worn through, your wish may come true – so wish wisely! You can find Erin’s products on their website: www.byerin.co.uk

Home Word –

This ‘Home’ word is perfect for adding to a shelf, or it comes with some little sticky tabs to attach to a wall if you prefer. They have been made by Carol over at ‘U Can Name It’. They have a shop on eBay and create lots of beautiful word decorations, plaques, signs and memory boxes. You can find them here: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/blake7070

Terrarium & Wall Decal –

One item that we know can help to make our home environment healthy, is plants. These terrariums are a great way to bring a little plant life into our homes in a fun way, and they are perfect for growing small succulents, air plants or cacti. Now, we couldn’t include a real cactus in your parcel, so this wall decal is the closest we could get – without potentially causing you pain! Top tip…terrariums are very versatile, so if succulents aren’t your thing, they look great with a tea light inside, as a desk tidy, or full of jelly beans!

Bedside Notebook –

Another way to look after ourselves and our homes is organisation, and organising our minds is just as important. This little notebook is for all those nights when we are lying in bed, and our head is just full of ‘stuff’ – it could be things we need to do tomorrow or things we should have done today, but when this happens, grab this little notebook & write it down, and free your mind – it can all keep until tomorrow anyway!

‘Hard Times Don’t Last Forever’ –

We’ve included another inspirational postcard by Katie Abey Design, and this one has an important message. We all go through tough times, and when we do, it’s important to remember that things are always changing, and those hard times don’t last forever, there’s always something better on the way.

This month, your *Parcel Assistant is, Jonathon. I’m afraid Jonathon has a particular liking to eating custard at midnight, I have no idea why, I just recommend keeping any custard related items in your kitchen, safely locked away!

August 2018 – Parcel Contents

It’s time for another blog post, and this week, I’m going to tell you all about our parcel contents this month. The theme for August was ‘Hello Holiday’, and the contents were chosen to help the recipient to make the most out of this holiday season, and be encouraged to go outside, explore, and find adventure!

August Contents:

Travel Memories Frame –

This month, our parcels are all about holidays. This wooden frame is shaped like a beach hut and has been created to display a collage of small mementos from your travels. It could include tickets, a map, passport photos, or even a little sachet of sand from the beach. I love the idea of gluing a few shells to the bottom shelf too!

Campervan Magnet –

The next item is a beautiful clay campervan magnet – who doesn’t like campervans?! It has been made by Rachael, who has a lovely shop on eBay. Rachael makes a large variety of clay products and decorations. Her eBay shop can be found here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/luvarnie100

Wooden Plaque –

When we knew the theme of this month’s parcels, we knew we wanted to include this quote somewhere: ‘You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf’. We all face difficult times in our lives, and sometimes things just don’t go the way we expect them to, however, it’s not what happens to us in life, but what we do with what happens, that actually matters.

‘Explore’ Luggage Tag –

One simple thing that we all need when going on holiday, is a luggage tag – or several! It doesn’t matter how far we go, it could be across the other side of the world, or just exploring close to home, but we should definitely never stop exploring. Exploring encourages us to step outside of our comfort zone and find adventure!

 ‘Keep Driving Forward’ –

We will be including postcards by Katie Abey Design in our website parcels, and ‘Keep Driving Forward’ is our first. Katie Abey is a freelance illustrator based in Derbyshire, and she describes her work as being ‘illustrative doses of happiness and motivation along with a little dash of sarcasm’ – sounds perfect!

This month, you’ll be pleased to hear that your *Parcel Assistant is, Humphrey. Now, Humphrey may sound like he’s a cute little chap, but he is known to be very argumentative…so if you do have previous Parcel Assistants still living with you – I recommend keeping them apart!

July 2018 – Parcel Contents

Good Morning!

It’s Friday again, and I’m trying to get as much work done as possible this morning before the thunderstorm arrives (if it does!) and takes all our electricity away…

For this week’s post, I’m going to tell you all about our July parcel contents, and this time, the theme was ‘…and Relax’. They contained products to help the recipient to find time for a ‘little bit of calm’, and to relax and recharge.

July Contents:

Drinking Jar & Straw –

The first item inside your parcel this month is a colourful Mason drinking jar. Summer is definitely here, and it’s vital to keep hydrated (and look good while you’re doing it!) It even comes with a (essential!) stripey re-useable straw.

Colouring Page & Pencils –

This month your parcel is all about relaxing and finding time for a little bit of ‘calm’. Colouring has become a very popular way of unwinding, for both children and adults. It may not be your first go-to hobby, but it definitely allows us to have a little time out, as the rest of the world continues around us – you may even create a masterpiece!

Bath Fizzers –

You may have noticed the beautiful fragrances coming from these bath fizzers before you even opened your parcel this month. These fizzers have been made by Trishell over at ‘Bathing Beauties’. They are vegan friendly and come in a variety of refreshing scents. Bathing Beauties create lots of cruelty-free bath treats, skincare and gifts. You can find Trishell and their lovely products over on their Facebook page or Etsy: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/bathingbeautiesuk.

Fabric Heart & Nakd Bar –

Owls are a personal favourite of ours, and we thought these fabric hearts were very cute. They would be perfect for adding a little lavender oil to, for a relaxing scent in your room. They have been made by ‘Peanuts Folly’ – you can find them on their eBay shop.

We’ve also included a ‘cocoa orange’ Nakd bar as a treat while you’re taking some well-deserved ‘me time’. These bars are full of raw goodness, and are gluten, wheat and dairy free too.

‘You Don’t Have To Stay Within The Lines’ –

This is a great quote, and it was a perfect fit with this month’s contents. It is a reminder that just being you, is fine, in fact it’s great!

No matter what you’re told throughout life, you don’t need to be ‘the same’, to ‘fit in’, or follow ‘the norm’.

This month, your *Parcel Assistant is Percy – this little chap has been known to be very noisy, he REALLY likes to talk, but a slice of pizza or two should keep him quiet!!

June 2018 – Parcel Contents

Good Morning!

It’s a beautiful day at TSP HQ today, and we are set (apparently!) for a scorching week!

Our June parcels arrived with customers in perfect timing for this lovely weather, as the theme this month was ‘Step Outside’.

The contents were all chosen to encourage the recipient to step outside into the fresh air, by making their outside space look pretty and inviting, however big or small it may be.

June Contents:

Heart Suncatcher –

The first item inside your parcel this month is a pretty heart suncatcher! As soon as we saw these, we thought they were beautiful, and a ‘must have’ for our first ‘summery’ themed parcels. They are handmade and look lovely hanging in a window where they can catch the sun as it shines through, making patterns of light – all we need now is sunshine, fingers crossed it will be back!

Tea Light Holder & Tea Light –

We are now heading into full blown barbeque weather, and there’s nothing quite like sitting outside in the evening and, if you’re lucky, watching the sun set after a long sunny day. This glass tea light holder makes a great patio table centrepiece to give a lovely glow of twinkling candle light. If tea lights aren’t your thing, it also makes a fabulous pen pot, or even a desktop jelly bean holder…why not?!

Bunting –

This beautiful fabric door bunting has been made especially for our parcels, by Joanne over at ‘Beadies By Jo’. Jo designs and creates lots of stunning fabric items, including children’s clothes, cushions, bags and home storage, and of course, bunting! You can find Jo’s products on her Facebook page or over on Etsy.

Metal Bird –

This month’s parcels are all about encouraging you to ‘Step Outside’, take a deep breath, and get some fresh air. Being outside has been proven to benefit our mental health and overall well-being. Vitamin D is good for us physically, and being around nature, and the sights and sounds of the outdoors is good for de-stressing and unwinding, including listening to birds tweeting, which can help us feel relaxed and focused.

 ‘Bee Yourself’ –

Sometimes we all need a little reminder that just being ourselves, is enough. Life isn’t a competition to be better than everyone else, it’s about being the best version of ourselves –  after all, there’s only one you, so no one else can do you, better than you…you’re in control!

This month, your Parcel Assistant is Dave…you may notice he looks a little like a snowman (I noticed this too!) – I guess snowmen have to go somewhere in Summer!

May 2018 – Parcel Contents

Good Morning!

It’s a very rainy wet morning at TSP HQ, so I’m going to cheer myself up by showing you the contents of this month’s parcel!

The theme for May was ‘Make Time For Tea’, and the contents were all about taking a break and making time for a well-earned cuppa, with a friend, and having a catch-up, and remembering to ask ‘Are You Okay?’.

May Contents:

Travel Mug –

The first item inside your parcel this month, is a travel mug with the quote ‘Always time for a cuppa’ – something we believe in completely! We wanted to include a mug you can take with you this time, rather than a ceramic mug, so you’re always ready for a catch-up and cuppa – wherever it may be!

Tea Towel –

This pretty tea towel is in the same blue floral design as your new travel mug. The quote this time reads ‘Come, let us have some tea and talk of happy things’, which fits with our parcel theme perfectly.

Tea Bags –

As this month, we are all about having a nice warm cuppa, we couldn’t possibly not include a couple of tea bags! These caffeine free vanilla chai sachets contain 6 herbs, along with vanilla, there’s cinnamon and ginger, cardamom, fennel and liquorice – better get the kettle on!

If you received our parcel last month, you may recognise the packets keeping your tea bags safe – they are similar to the little packets that contained the sunflower seeds in April – that’s because we went back to the lovely ladies over at ‘Twine and Bow Wedding Stationery’ to order another bespoke design.

Biscuit Tub and Chocolate ‘Animals’! –

In our opinion no cup of tea is complete without a biscuit (or two!), and we can’t really go wrong if there’s a little chocolate involved too – hopefully they aren’t too small for dunking! (check the packet ingredients for allergens). We’ve also included a cute little biscuit tub, as travelling with a snack is a must…

 ‘Make Time For Tea…’ –

‘Make Time For Tea, Make Time To Talk’ – we all have busy hectic lives, so this is a reminder that we all need to take a break sometimes, to meet up with a friend, or a family member, or even someone we don’t know well, and have a catch-up – as they say ‘it’s good to talk’!

This month, your Parcel Assistant is, Louis…between you and me, I think he may have recently changed his name to match a new born prince – we’ll pretend we haven’t noticed!

Karen x
